When candidates apply for an IELTS test, they are given detailed information on the test conditions. There are strict test conditions to ensure against cheating and malpractice. Candidates may only take pencils, pens, rubbers, an identification document and a drink into the test. No other items are permitted. IELTS has security checks in every test room. There are regulations pertaining to the set-up of the test room and the movement of candidates. Every IELTS centre follows a strict code of practice for the safeguarding of IELTS test materials.
