IELTS Online is the new way to take IELTS Academic and has the same content and format as our IELTS Academic in-centre tests. It is therefore a reliable and trusted test for test takers who may prefer to take the test at home or for those can’t reach a test centre.
It is backed by world-class pre- and post-test security measures used for all IELTS tests. Further security measures are in place via live online proctoring conducted by invigilators who are recruited, trained, and managed directly by IELTS. In addition to the live proctors there is AI monitoring to flag any malpractice.
IELTS Online has the same format and content as our in-centre tests. All tests are marked by certified IELTS examiners and results are available in 3-5 days. IELTS Online has exactly the same marking criteria and scoring system as IELTS, so there is no need to learn or compare scores. You can rely on IELTS trusted band scores.
As with in-centre testing the Speaking test will be conducted in real-time with a trained IELTS examiner. In the IELTS Online test, the speaking section happens via a secure video call. The format and questions are exactly the same, providing you with reassurance of the test taker’s proficiency in English.
