If you didn’t show your full potential in one of the four skills (Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking) on test day, IELTS One Skill Retake can help you get back on track. You can choose to take IELTS One Skill Retake at any test centre where it is offered.

IELTS One Skill Retake is currently available in Australia and will be gradually launched in other regions and countries around the world throughout 2023.
You will receive a new Test Report Form. This includes your updated IELTS One Skill Retake score as well as the results for the other three skills in the original test. You can choose whether you use your original or your new Test Report Form.
The best way to get the score you need on your test is to prepare for it. We have a range of preparation materials so that you know what to expect and can perform your best on test day.
What is IELTS One Skill Retake?
IELTS One Skill Retake is a new way to give test takers confidence that they can reach their potential and showcase their full English language ability. With IELTS One Skill Retake, you now have the option to re-take any one section of the test (Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking) if you need to improve on one area (instead of retaking all four sections). We know most test takers get the scores they need first time, but if you feel you haven’t performed to your best in all areas, IELTS One Skill Retake can be that help to get you back on track. It will be available for both IELTS Academic and General Training tests.

What is the maximum length of time you can take between your original four skill IELTS test and IELTS One Skill Retake?
You can book a IELTS One Skill Retake 60 days between your original test and your IELTS One Skill Retake.
Is it available globally to all test takers?
IELTS One Skill Retake is currently available at selected IELTS on Computer centers in Australia and will continue to roll out globally.
What is the length and format of IELTS One Skill Retake?
You can retake any one section of the IELTS test, whether it’s Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking. The format and timing of that IELTS One Skill Retake test is the same as that individual skill in a normal IELTS test, only you can save time by not needing to complete the other three skills.
Can I complete a One Skill Retake multiple times?
No. You can only complete one retake for each full IELTS test.
