About the test

Your students have a choice of two versions of IELTS: Academic or General Training. This means that they can take an English language test that is directly relevant to the context in which it will be used.

  • IELTS Academic is suitable for people planning to study in higher education or seeking professional registration.
  • IELTS General Training focuses on basic survival skills in broad social and workplace contexts.
